What goes into a luxury candle?

The short answer as to why these candles are more expensive has to do with the luxury brand recognition, more expensive ingredients, more complex and honed fragrances, sometimes more hand-made touches, and fancier packaging.

We’ll go into each of these reasons more in depth for a better explanation below.

Personally, I think that the biggest cost to making luxury candles comes from the fragrance oils that we use to scent our candles. We use an exclusive collection of phthalate-free fragrance oils that are unique, sophisticated and created using fine fragrance oils + pure essential oils from around the globe. Our candles are filled with 11% fragrance load (higher than most candles) and our coconut wax makes the most of every ounce.

Next, would be the quality of the wax. We use sustainable coconut wax for a clean and complete burn. Coconut wax has been overlooked by the candle industry because it is 2 times more expensive per pound. We believe that coconut wax is the best option available on the market for candle makers looking to balance product quality with sustainable sourcing practices.

Finally, the vessel. We designed our vessels to fit any space, and to be easy to repurpose. The food-grade glass is non-toxic, odorless, and 100% BPA Free.

We specialize in luxury oversized candles, that costs a lot more to make than the average candle. Our candles are hand-poured for you in small batches with lots of LOVE!

Why do we like bigger candles?

  • Bigger candles are just better!
  • You might think that getting mini candles is a good idea if you are trying to save money but they really don’t throw fragrance the way the bigger candles do. If you buy an expensive candle, you want to at least smell it.
  • Triple wicks usually just burn better as well.
  • If you do buy a luxury candle, or any candle for that matter, follow the instructions and burn it properly to get the longest burn time out of it. Keep the wick trimmed and make sure the first burn makes a full melt pool to prevent tunneling.
